Dr. Forse is a general and bariatric surgeon whose interest is in medical education and clinical and basic research. He has considerable experience in directing post graduate and graduate programs in medical education. He is a prolific researcher who has directed research laboratories conducting investigations in nutritional support, immunological and metabolic response to injury, the treatment of sepsis, the biology and treatment of morbid obesity, and clinical outcomes. His clinical interests are gastrointestinal surgery, including minimally invasive procedures and bariatric surgery. He has authored or co-authored more than 300 publications, books and book chapters and has performed more than 1,000 bariatric operations. He is an associate editor for both Obesity Surgery and Surgery for Obesity and Related Diseases, the two leading journals on Bariatric Surgery.
